Thank you Wes for this weeks podcast! Pete’s insight about how little press is dedicated to the conservation of our Wildlands leads me to agree and say thank you for staying on pointe with what is really going on behind the scenes. It also appears Wimpy Mike Lee is feeling the heat cos i saw him issue a mealy mouth defense of the provision as “no public land” but “garden type clearing. Say what? 🤪

Can we say our call to action this week will be to call this BS and suggest our republican representatives Strike the Provision altogether ? (I still like “Kill the Bill” even though i am non violent in nature and do not see killing as a solution to our real world problems.). Thank you for expanding your world into podcasts Wes Siler

Nice interview with my friend Pete. Thank you for educating us about this madness. For generations greedy people have tried to suck wealth out our shared heritage. We must push back at every turn.

There is a section in the House reconciliation bill Section 80121(h) This section guts judicial review, a cornerstone of our US Constitution and takes away anyone's right to sue the government over destroying our environment. “No court shall have jurisdiction to review any action taken by the Secretary, the EPA administrator, a State or municipal agency, or any other federal agency […] to issue a lease, permit, biological opinion, or other approval. “ is this clause or something similar in the Senate version of the reconciliation bill? Not much is being said about this clause but it looks like this would prevent any lawsuits to protect our public lands.

Stuff like that tends to get removed by the Senate's more stringent budget protections, but I'll look into it regardless.

Thank you. The Senate version just reworded House bill sec 70302 which also should have been removed by Bryds law but is now still in the Senate bill under sec 203 Restriction of Enforcement. They eliminated the ability for a Judge to lower or waive the bond making it unaffordable for most to file a lawsuit in the first place. So there's a good chance they reworded house bill sec 80121(h) and kept it in there also.
