Thank you for podcasting with Tracy Stone Manning, Wes! This is an excellent resource for us to tap into if -- or when -- we feel daunted by the enormity of 120 million acres being sold off to the timber, mining and fossil fuel industrials!
Some of us Californians are seasoned soldiers in the march to protect and preserve these precious resources against extractive industries designed for billionaire investors -- not citizens of the land. It feels like We need each other now more than ever in unifying our collective actions to do whatever we can to stop the big steal.
Did you say we can see exactly which lands nearby us are up for sale on Wilderness.org? Thank you for keeping us posted and for podcasting too!
Wes -- Did you see Heather Cox Richardson's "Grounded" Podcast with Jon Tester? If not, give it a look see. She is speaking to the issue of Public Lands and is a voice of calm in the storm if you do not already know her....
I agree with your guest that public lands bring us together. I live in Pennsylvania which is pretty evenly divided state and everyone I talk to about this agrees we need to save our public lands. Thank you so much for all your work educating us. I can share this video with people from all parts of our politics because it is not a partisan video.
The Problem with what the Gop senate want to do is, that the Federal Gov does not own the land, they only manage it. Reagan learned that lesson years ago when he tried to wipe clean his 4 Trillion dollars of debt. Proof to follow. First read "The Administrative Presidency Revisited'. Reagan Tried to sell public land to cover up his 4 trillion dollars debt, Found out He/federal gov d did not own the land. Read Chapter 3,Public Lands, the BLM,and the Reagan Revolution, Next , (Storm Over Range Lands) "Private Rights in Federal Lands" by Wayne Hage, page 89-93, we were hot on this when I ran for Gov in 09; Wayne was married to Helen Chenowith she was good friends with Bob Dole .
