Thank you for posting this information. Have been witnessing cutbacks, closures in NM and CO over last month camping — the detrimental effects on several sites. From outright closures, to morale, to even grand facilities struggling. Big sites — and small being the most obvious victims with actually closed facilities — sites unattended, but accessible. Have seen visitors at grand sites oblivious to the damage their votes have rendered. Want to confront them — that they have forfeited their right to enjoy these places. Have to channel the anger…

Would be quite interesting if that submission line was inundated with complaints about how native Americans aren’t being properly recognized or historically significant BIPOC aren’t being spoken about in sufficiently complementary terms or anything else that pushes a historically accurate narrative which may run counter to the preferences of this admin.

I think that'd probably just create work for some intern. The point of this is to try and manufacture "evidence" of thoughtcrime, to justify policing of that. Something tells me they won't require much evidence.

Just who is going to install these signs? Do they expect rangers to put up signs for visitors to spy on them? Hoping they will end up in garbage cans!

I also thought of Devil’s Tower, that provided information about the indigenous nations perspective on rock climbing. It was important to have something reminding people to think harder about climbing in sacred areas. Is that still part of the Monument?

I wondered what they will do with Stonewall National Monument in NYC. Their first response was to eliminate the contributions and leadership of trans people.

There are so many places. We visited the Nicodemus historic site last month and I was curious about the effect of the Presidential Order on the site of an African American community that was established there. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed.

I do think some creative opposition to this is called for. When DOGE demanded (via OPM) emails with 5 accomplishments from all federal employees, the zone was flooded with silly responses and it seemed to gum up the works. Maybe we need to have mass submissions to www.nps.gov/aboutus/eo14253.htm complaining about Trump's denigrations of veterans, or of other public officials, etc. etc.
