Thanks for continually updating us and interpreting it in such a digestible way. The morale at my local NP is in the gutter, but those who are left are thankfully leaning on one another and have a renewed sense of purpose in their work.

Today they said that Trump is looking into deporting US citizens to prisons like the one in El Salvador. I don’t think he is even acquainted with decency.

I’ll look forward to your advice on still visiting the parks and what we can do to help and still have a safe visit. My parents waited 75 years to get to Yosemite and we are still planning a visit early summer.

I have a good buddy who does ebike tours there. He's amazing. Want an intro? It's the best thing I can I agone doing there with older people.

That would be nice. The parents are planning a bus tour while my adult children and I explore on foot or bike.

I am so upset about this that I couldn't finish your writing. WTF does keeping all trails open mean to damaged/hazard areas? Let people get hurt? So unacceptable.

It means any closures have to be approved by the Interior Secretary himself. I'd imagine that areas with planned maintenance, damages, or ongoing hazards will remain closed, but that it will be challenging to make decisions about closures as stuff happens this summer. It also means that there will be significantly reduced presence of rangers to assist or guide visitors, so risks will increase dramatically. They're doing this to try and save face, but in so doing are putting your life in danger.
