Really great interview. Public lands are almost uniquely a western thing. Nearly half the country doesn’t realize how important public lands and public lands access are. I think this is big problem.

That's not true, there's really important, really popular national forests, national seashores, wildlife refuges, national parks, etc all over the east coast. Where do you live? I'll point you towards a good camping spot.

I’ve camped all over the Midwest and East coast, and you’re right- there are some great public lands areas out east.

I just meant in a more general sense that selling off public lands has a much bigger effect in the western US.
