Great advice for protesting all aspects of this terrible budget that hands out huge benefits to upper-income Americans on the backs of the middle class and the poor.

Thanks for this. After hours, but I did leave a message for all on your list.

I just called all 7 congressmen. Most did not ask where I lived - of course, my phone number gives that away. They politely listened and took my comments. I asked each congressman to request modification of the Reconciliation Bill to remove the sale of public lands and cuts to NPS. I said it wouldn't generate much $$ but would harm all Americans and cause irreversible changes to one of the treasured benefits of being an American. The staffers said they would pass it along. THANK YOU WES FOR Posting this. Sent link to friends and family!!!

Called them all and was able to speak with staff for all but 2. Hurd couldn't leave a message or an email. Thank you for the script it helps keep me focused.

Thanks Marianne. After calling the reps listed above, the most powerful thing each of us can do is share this guide as widely as possible!

Does it make sense to call reps that aren’t your own? Do our comments get noted? I’ve done it many times, but is it effective?

In this case: yes. Especially ones on the rules committee.

I made these calls. For a phone-phobic person, it's hard to do, but the scripts took a lot of the discomfort out of it.

In future, please add the USDA Forest Service to your columns. Over 60% of water west of the Mississippi flows through national forests and the forests have as much recreation days as the national parks! The agency has been decimated and this administration thinks the only value in them is the trees. Many ranchers will be harmed due to their grazing permits also.

Hurd's office hung up on me after I explained that while I'm not a constituent, I am an a nomad who briefly lived in the area last year and chose the location bc of its proximity to Mesa Verde. I spent thousands of dollars in his distract last year bc of the park. What a gem.
