This was a great recommendation and it was my introduction to Beyond Clothing!

I have skied 5 days with my Guide gloves and could not be happier. Excellent quality and dexterity, and hands down the warmest gloves I've tried. My fingers run cold so I usually break out the mittens in temps below 30, but the Guide gloves just held up for me on consecutive days in the mid teens. My Black Diamond Mercury Mittens are still slightly warmer, but come at high cost of being a mitten (and must be taken off in order to do anything practical...).

Consider me a convert.

Hoping to refresh this for the coming cold weather months. Would you recommend a good rain pant. I'm in the Northeast, light trekking, around town looks - but dry. These drenching rains (thanks climate change) have me questioning some manufacturer's waterproof claims. Male, 6'4 250lbs. Love the Beyond recs (testa, guide gloves) thanks to you - and I've read the Sitka reviews, but, as a non-hunter, I would look silly LARPing as one.

Wes, I have nothing but respect for you and your journalism. I know you know your shit! Based on that, I eagerly jumped on your recommendation and bought the Aptus A5 Stretch Alpha Jacket. Do you still stand by that recommendation? I ask because my experience with the product has been awful! I've been wearing it for about two months in 30-35 degree weather to walk briskly with a dog. Even if I wear nothing underneath but a short or long sleeve wicking base layer top (e.g., mid-weight capilene), I continually overheat and get clammy and moist. It's like the insulation is TOO good, or the breathability SUCKS. To top things off, the lack of a chin zipper guard is really annoying (and stupefying for a jacket that retails for $400!). What am I missing? Am I doing it wrong? Did I get a counterfeit product? What do you think?

Actually this was quite helpful. I have had my eye on some of their stuff for a very long time, but the cost plus import duties (to ship up to Canada) made very expensive; with this sale, I was able to justify pulling the trigger on a couple items, and I would not have known about it had it not been for your newsletter.
