Claiming financial hardship and selling the parks to private entities (stealing from Americans) has always been the plan. Letting science strangle is just a cherry on top for this administration.

so agreed... the privatization aspect of all this is truly driving me nuts!

Theft. They're stealing from us, and in Utah's case using tax dollars to convince us to vote for it

you are completely correct! i just spent 4.5 months camping and roadtripping across canada from nova scotia to vancouver… to see how differently they run their national and provincial parks was eye opening!

It will never be the same in any of our National Parks as the 47 Administration does not care. Cruelty is their point in all aspects of our government. We have to hold them accountable for their irreparable harm.

In Acadia, miles of parking on grass (no parking zones + non-durable surfaces). Overcrowding. Over 4 million park visitors predicted for 2025. Think about the millions of dollars the national parks lost over peak leaf peeping season during the shutdown harming the environment and national parks even more. I even saw some dumb viral videos of people camping out at trailheads because park rangers won't kick you out. Grrr.

This news, while unsurprising, still absolutely breaks my heart.

wes, i'm thinking of starting to tell stories about national parks and all the good they do through personal stories of people i meet while camping and roadtripping. just short bits, a couple paragraphs to humanize our national parks, monuments, rec areas etc.

would be willing to share a short favorite story of yours with me? thanks for your consideration! sandy

ps: i just came back into the country after 4.5 months of roadtripping and national park hopping in canada (nova scotia to PEI, cape breton all the way to vancouver) and it was illuminating to see how canada runs their parc national and provincial parks. it makes what is happening here even more heart wrenching. thanks again for all you do!
