What’s The Easiest Way To Put Driving Lights On A Stock Tacoma?
John emailed me to ask about LED bulb upgrades for his otherwise completely stock Toyota Tacoma. He was considering swapping out the standard foglight bulbs for aftermarket LED ones that would have cost him something north of $400 for a pair.
Headlight upgrades are common theme in my inbox. Even on new cars, the stock headlights often feel like you could do better by mounting a couple of tea candles to the front bumper. If you’re mostly driving around a city, suburbs, or on highways and other major roads—places with streetlamps—this might work fine. But, it’s only safe to drive at a speed where you can come to complete stop in the distance you can clearly see ahead. Stock headlights become really limiting in rural areas, off-road, and in any place that has a lot of deer and other animals on the road.
